No Politician Is Worth Dying For - CAN Warns Nigerian Youths Ahead Of 2023 Polls

Kogi State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), has asked Churches who wished to observe cross-over services on 31st December 2020 to go on.

Worship centres in the state were assured of the government’s support to observe their cross-over services without any disturbance.

Naija News understands that the churches were given the assurance of freedom of service by the state CAN chairman, Bishop John Ibenu.

Speaking on Wednesday, December 30 in Lokoja, the state capital, Ibenu said he reached out to the state government today and churches were permitted to observe their cross-over services in our various local denomination.

He said: “Let us keep the nation and Kogi State in prayers and trust that no plague will come near our state and I wish you all a glorious extraordinary breakthrough 2021.”

The decision is, however, against the decision of the federal and some state governments who have banned churches from conducting services to mark the end of the year service due to the outbreak of the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic.

Naija News understands that Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has consistently maintained that the COVID-19 pandemic, even though it exists, had been exaggerated for political and economic purposes.
