The leadership of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has directed its Peace, Reconciliation and Strategy Committee to resolve the issue between Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde and former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose.

Naija News reports that the Peace, Reconciliation and Strategy Committee is headed by former Senate President, Bukola Saraki with former Gombe State Governor, Hassan Dankwambo; former House of Representatives Minority Leader, Hon. Mulikat Akande as members.

Other members of the committee are former Cross River State governor, Liyel Imoke; former Katsina State governor, Ibrahim Shema and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator Anyim Pius Anyim.

In a statement on Monday, PDP Spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan, said the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party has asked the committee to wade into the power tussle in the South-west chapter of the party.

He said the party also directed the committee to resolve the feud between Makinde and Fayose as part of efforts at repositioning the PDP in the South-West.

This news platform reports that Makinde and Fayose are locked in a supremacy battle that has polarised the South-West PDP as state chairmen of PDP and others pitched tent with either camp.

Fayose is challenging Makinde’s claim to be the zonal leader of the party on the account that he is the highest elected PDP leader in the region.

It was also gathered that the two chieftains were at loggerheads over whether or not a former Ondo State Information Commissioner, Dr. Eddy Olafeso, should be the next PDP National Vice Chairman (West).
