Arsenal defender, Gabriel Magalhaes has been confirmed positive for the coronavirus disease and is set to miss the next two games for his club.
Based on this development, Arsenal has disclosed the Brazilian international player has gone into self-isolation.
The player is set to miss the next two premier league matches for the Gunners against Brighton and West Brom.
On boxing day, Gabriel was confirmed to have come in close contact with someone who had tested positive for the virus, forcing him to miss his team’s 3-1 victory over Chelsea.
A statement on Arsenal’s website said: “Gabriel has tested positive for Covid-19 and is isolating according to UK Government and Premier League protocols.
“We will continue to monitor and support Gabriel, and we are hoping he will be available again after our next two matches.”
Meanwhile, Juventus have reportedly announced their intention to sign Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba for £50 million due to the club’s financial crisis.
Reports have suggested that Juventus would like to bring the player back if Manchester United agree on a fee, with Juventus willing to offer Paulo Dybala in exchange for Pogba if Manchester United do not accept £50m.
But Manchester United manager Ole Gunner Solkjaer has revealed that Paul Pogba is happy at the club and will surprise the world from now until the end of the season.
