Man City Players, Walker, Jesus Contract COVID-19

Manchester City have announced that the duo of Kyle Walker and Gabriel Jesus have tested positive for the Coronavirus.

In a statement released on Friday morning, the club also disclosed that two staff members of the club have also tested positive for the virus.

The club revealed that all four personnel will now observe a period of self-isolation in accordance with Premier League and UK Government protocol on quarantine.

The club wishes the staff members a speedy recovery over the Christmas period ahead of their return to work, training, and competition.

According to the club, Walker and Jesus would miss City’s Premier League matches against Newcastle, Everton, and Chelsea, with a return possible for their Carabao Cup semi-final against Manchester United on January 6.

Naija News reports that Jesus has been playing regularly for City in the absence of Sergio Aguero but hasn’t been scoring goals and hasn’t impress City Boss, Pep Guardiola.

He has just four goals in 15 games in all competitions this term and ended a drought when he scored against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup in midweek.

England defender Walker has also been a Blues regular, playing 18 times in all competitions and scoring at former club Sheffield United to give City three points at Bramall Lane earlier in the campaign.
