Ex-Lagos Commissioner, Enoch Ajiboso Dies While Settling Rift

Chief Enoch Ajiboso, a former Lagos State Commissioner has reportedly died.

According to the report made available to newsmen, the former Commissioner of Agriculture slumped and died on Sunday, December 20 while settling a dispute between two Muslim groups.

Ajiboso who also is the Eesa of Inisa town in Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun State was said to be addressing a misunderstanding over the choice of Chief Imam in the community before he slumped.

Confirming the report, a Community Chief, Adetoyi Abimbola told newsmen that Ajiboso slumped while urging the warring factions to embrace peace.

Abimbola noted that Ajiboso was immediately rushed to the hospital but was confirmed dead a few hours later. He noted that the deceased had checked his blood pressure before going for the meeting on Sunday, December 20.

He said: “We did not know that such could happen to him because he checked his blood pressure and it was like 110. “He tried to pacify the factions in the crisis and was very philosophical. He was pleading with both parties to be calm and see the outcome being peaceful. It was along the line that he slumped and was rushed to the hospital. It all happened inside the town hall. I sat next to him,” he said.

“It amused us all. He was humble and a role model for us all.” he added

On his part, while confirming the incident, police spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, noted that Ajiboso was rushed to a hospital when he collapsed and was confirmed dead last Sunday.
