The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Ondo State Governorship election, Eyitayo Jegede (SAN), has boasted that he will send Governor Rotimi Akeredolu packing.

Naija News recalls that Jegede had lost the election to Akeredolu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

While expressing optimism that he will be declared the authentic winner of the election, Jegede said his petition before the election tribunal were enough to send APC packing from the state.

Jegede, a former Ondo Commissioner of Justice, said this on Tuesday in Akure, the state capital, during the inauguration of the newly-reconstructed Secretariat of the PDP in the state.

According to him, the ruling APC was already jittery of losing in the court.

“The APC in the state is jittery and we shall take over soon” Jegede said.

Also speaking at the opening of the new secretariat, the State Chairman of the PDP, Fatai Adams, disclosed that contributions of members to the party would henceforth be used to gauge the benefits for members.

“This is the first time in the history of politics in Nigeria that a single individual, would build a secretariat of a party.

“Whenever there is anything to be shared or appointments to be made, contributions of would-be beneficiaries, would be put into consideration.”

Meanwhile, the Department of State Services (DSS) has issued a security alert in which it alleged that some persons are planning to bomb Nigeria during the Christmas and new year celebrations.

The DSS in a statement on Tuesday by its spokesperson, Peter Afunanya said they are planning to bomb selected places and create a sense of insecurity in the country.

It, therefore, called on citizens to be extra vigilant and report suspected cases or persons to the nearest security post for further action.

The secret police also warned those planning the criminal acts to desist as it was ready in collaboration with other security agencies in the country to prevent them from carrying out their nefarious plans.
