National Assembly To Increase 2021 Budget By N500bn

APC, PDP Senators Disagree Over Electronic Transmission Of Election Results

The National Assembly is expected to pass the 2021 Appropriation Bill on Monday (today), with the total estimate to be increased from N13.08tn to N13,588,027,886,175, an increase of over N500bn.

The development was disclosed by the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriations on the national budget.

Both the Senate and the House of Representatives are holding special sessions today mainly to pass the budget ahead of the Christmas and New Year break.

Naija News had earlier reported that the Nigerian Senate fixed Monday, December 21, 2020, to hold a special session to consider and pass the 2021 budget.

The date was disclosed by Senate President Ahmed Lawan during plenary on Wednesday.
