The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has described as ‘hypocrisy and double standard’ President Muhammadu Buhari‘s statements in an old interview.

Naija News understands that the opposition party dug out and shared an old video of President Buhari condemning PDP, the then ruling party in a live interview with TVC news. Buhari who was a presidential aspirant then while stating his manifesto condemned PDP for neglecting the academic sector.

Reacting to the lingering ASUP strike then, Buhari slammed the then ruling party of not settling the academic union so that students can resume their lectures, noting that the administration set its priorities on things that are not relevant.

Watch the video below as shared on PDP Vanguard:

Naija News understands that PDP shared the video in reaction to the lingering strike action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, on Thursday noted that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government has done everything in its power to please the Academic Staff Union of Universities to end the lingering strike.

Naija News reports that Ngige in a statement released through his media officer, said the union is in the right place to state why it has not returned to class.
