El-Rufai Sparks Reaction With Cryptic Message After Failing To Clinch Ministerial Appointment

The Kaduna State Government has imposed new restrictions on churches and mosques following increased cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

Naija News reports that this was made known in a statement shared by Governor Nasir El-Rufai on Sunday.

The Kaduna govt stated that service in churches and mosques has been restricted to one hour in a bid to curb the spread of COVID-19.

The state also directed civil servants from Grade 14 and below to work from home from Monday, December 21, 2020.

“Further to Covid-19 containment measures announced last week, KDSG has directed civil servants below Grade Level 14 to work from home from Monday, 21st December 2020,” the statement read in part.

“Places of worship must enforce facemasks, provide sanitisers, and ensure physical distancing. The number of worshippers will be capped. Congregational worship should not exceed one hour.

“Transport operators must reduce capacity to not more than two passengers per row and not more than 50 per cent of capacity.

“KDSG appeals to all residents to see Covid-19 prevention as a personal responsibility.”

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Saturday recorded nine-hundred and twenty (920) new cases of COVID-19.

The newly confirmed cases bring Nigeria’s total infection to 77,933, with 67,784 discharged after recovering from the virus.

But the NCDC has also recorded 1,218 deaths since the disease found its way into Nigeria in February, 2020.
