President Muhammadu Buhari has urged the released schoolboys of Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, Katsina State, not to allow their abduction to distract them from their studies.

President Buhari stated this when he received the freed 333 schoolboys at the Banquet Hall of Katsina State Government House.

The president promised to ensure adequate security around schools across Nigeria, adding that the abduction of the students was a deliberate attempt to test the will of his administration.

Buhari said: “You students are very lucky, concentrate on your studies, don’t allow your terrible experiences in the hands of those heartless bandits distract you from your studies.

“Put behind all the sufferings and concentrate on your studies.

“The Federal Government will continue to strengthen security around all schools across the country.”

Also speaking, Governor Aminu Masari told the President of the traumatic experiences the students had in the hands of their abductors.

He said, “These students returned barefooted. None of them wore any sandals while they were being brought here.”

Recall that gunmen had attacked the school over a week ago and abducted the 333 schoolboys. The abduction occurred some hours after the President arrived in Daura, Katsina for a week-long private visit.

Katsina State Governor, however, announced on Thursday that 344 schoolboys were released by bandits in Zamfara State.
