Coronavirus: NCDC Confirms 806 New COVID-19 Cases In Nigeria

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) on Friday evening, 18th December 2020, confirmed 806 new cases of Coronavirus disease infection in Nigeria.

The new cases of COVID-19 infection were confirmed via a statement on the official Twitter handle of the health agency.

This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nigeria to 77,013 which includes 67,484 discharged cases and 1,212.

Below is the breakdown of the latest cases according to states with Lagos State having the highest number of cases, followed by Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Friday in view of the renewed coronavirus wave in the country, directed all civil servants from Grade Level 14 and below in the state to work from home.

Governor Sanwo-Olu in the statement released also directed all worship centres not to exceed two hours in their services.

He added that no gathering must exceed 50 percent of the maximum capacity of the Venue.

Sanwo-Olu also banned carnivals and street parties in the state.
