Some yet to be identified gunmen have reportedly abducted a first-class monarch in Kogi State, Naija News reports.

According to the report confirmed to newsmen a few moments ago, Alhaji Shaibu Usman was ambushed on the early hour of Friday, December 18 around a popular mosque in Anpka.

Naija News learnt that the gunmen cornered the monarch while entering the mosque at about 5:30 am this morning. Daily Post confirmed that the gunmen zoomed off with Alhaji Usman in a car to an unknown destination.

However, the kidnappers of the traditional ruler are yet to make their demand known to any of the monarch’s family.

Confirming the incident, the Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Ayuba Edeh said the force men will not relent until it rescues and arrest the kidnappers of the Acting Eje of Ankpa.

Edeh noted that the police had cordoned off all entry and exit points into the State, with the view to rescuing the Traditional Ruler.

On his part, the Kogi State Commissioner for Information, Kingsley Fanwo, assured that all effort has been put in place to ensure the freedom of the monarch.

“The State Government is working with security agencies to ensure his release,” said Fanwo.

In another news, Naija News reported that some men with disabilities on Thursday beat up a security guard at the National Assembly.
