1. #EndSARS Protesters’ Accounts Frozen In Error – Justice Tsoho

Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, John Tsoho, has said that the accounts of #EndSARS protesters were frozen in error.

He noted that the intention on the court was to freeze the accounts of corporate bodies under suspicion of money laundering, he made the disclosure during the special court session to mark the beginning of the 2020 to 2021 legal year of the court.

2. Boko Haram: Military Mercenaries Make U-Turn, Give Condition To Help Nigeria Fight Terrorists

Military mercenaries engaged during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan to help fight Boko Haram terrorists in Nigeria have expressed willingness to return to the country again.

According to the South African military contracting firm, Conella Services Ltd, if the present administration led by President Muhammadu Buhari contacts them, they are ready to deploy their expertise, return to Nigeria and finish the work started during the Jonathan administration before they were disengaged by the current administration.

3. House Of Representatives Suspend FG’s 774,000 Jobs Scheme

The House of Representatives on Tuesday, called for the immediate suspension of the Special Works Scheme of the Federal Government.

The recruitment process of 774,000 workers for the scheme for a while has seen the National Assembly and the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment clash.

4. Aisha Buhari Relocates To Dubai, Cites Insecurity In Aso Villa

Nigeria First Lady, Aisha Buhari, has reportedly moved to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, since September after her daughter, Hanan, tied the knot with her lover, SaharaReporters claims.

A further report disclosed that the President’s wife does not have a plan to return back to the country anytime soon despite spending over three months outside the Nation.

5. CJN Tanko Muhammad Tests Positive For COVID-19

The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Tanko Muhammad has contracted the COVID-19 virus.

This was confirmed on Tuesday in Abuja by a member of the Supreme Court, Justice Ibrahim Saulawa.

Saulawa made the confirmation at the unveiling of the national headquarters of the Muslim Lawyers’ Association of Nigeria (MULAN) in Abuja, The Nation reports.

6. Nigeria’s Inflation Rate Hits 14․89%

The inflation rate in Nigeria has climbed up to 14.89% according to the latest figures released on Tuesday by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

This is a 0.66 percent increase from the 14.23 percent recorded in October 2020 as confirmed by the NBS.

7. World Bank Approves Fresh $1.5b Loan For Nigeria

Nigeria is set to receive a $1.5 billion approved loan from the World Bank to implement specific developmental projects the international financial institution has confirmed.

In a statement on Tuesday, World Bank country director for Nigeria, Shubham Chaudhuri said the approved loan facility has a five-year tenure which will run between 2021 and 2024.

8. Kano State House Of Assembly Elects Ibrahim-Chidari As New Speaker

Lawmakers of the Kano State House of Assembly on Tuesday elected Hamisu Ibrahim-Chidari (APC -Makoda) as their new Speaker.

This follows the earlier resignation of Abdulazeez Garba-Gafasa during Tuesday’s plenary.

9. Senate Summons Minister, Security Chiefs, Others Over Insecurity In Nigeria

The Nigerian Senate on Tuesday ordered the Minister of Defence and heads of the nation’s security outfits to appear before it.

The service chiefs, Inspector-General of Police, Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS) and other heads of security agencies were summoned by the lawmakers.

10. Federal Government, ASUU Cancel Meeting On Strike

The Federal Government for the second time in a row cancelled its meeting with the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities on Monday.

President Muhammadu Buhari-led government did not give any reason for the cancellation of the meeting scheduled to address the ongoing strike.
