Osinbajo Presides As Buhari Joins FEC Meeting Virtually From Daura (Photos)

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Wednesday presided over the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Council Chambers of the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.

President Muhammadu Buhari who is away in his Daura hometown in Katsina State on a private visit, joined the meeting virtually.

The meeting started around 10:04am with the National Anthem and opening prayers. The Muslim prayer was taken by the National Security Adviser (NSA), Major General Babagana Monguno (Rtd), while the Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire took the Christian prayer.

Other FEC members who physically attended the meeting include the Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, Ministers of Transportation Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi; Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed; Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed; Education, Adamu Adamu; Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola; Agriculture, Sabo Nanono; and Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mohammed Bello.

Others are Police Affairs, Muhammad Dingyadi; Environment, Dr Mohammad Abubakar; Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Ali Pantami; Defence, Major General Bashir Magashi (Rtd); Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika; Industry, Trade and Investment Otunba Niyi Adebayo; Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva; Minister of State for the Environment, Sharon Ikeazor.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Boss Mustapha who is currently in self-isolation after some members of his household tested positive for COVID-19 was represented at the meeting by the Permanent Secretary, Ecological Funds Office, Mrs. Habiba Lawal, who is standing in as the secretary for the meeting.

The meeting was still in progress as at the time of filing this report.
