Hon. Aliyu Datti Yau from Kano State during plenary on Tuesday dumped the Peoples Democratic Party for the All Progressives Congress.
A lawmaker from Taraba State, Shiddi Usman Danjuma, also defected from the All Progressives Grand Alliance to the APC.
Their defection letters were read on the floor of the house by the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila.
The Minority Leader, Ndudi Elumelu; and Deputy Minority Leader, Toby Okechukwu, raised points of order to fault the defections.
Both Elumelu and Okechukwu noted that the reason given by the lawmakers for their defections, which was that there were crises and divisions in their former parties, was untrue and invalid.
Gbajabiamila, however, dismissed the points of the opposition leaders.
He noted that Yau’s defection made all the 24 members from Kano to be in APC.
