The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, has called on the military to restrategize in its fight against Boko Haram.

The former Governor of Lagos State noted that the war against insurgency is tactical, hence the need to replan and change strategies.

Tinubu stated this during a condolence visit to the Governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum in Maiduguri, following Boko Haram’s killing of farmers in the state.

He said, “We have been on this (Boko Haram) for some time, We have seen the reaction of the federal government, we have seen the reaction of the armed forces, this is no longer conventional warfare.”

“This is more tactical, more reason, more crude. In such a situation what we do is to replan our strategy.”

Recall that Boko Haram insurgents recently slaughtered several rice farmers in Zabarmari area of Borno State for allegedly informing the military about their operations.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Senate on Tuesday ordered the Minister of Defence and heads of the nation’s security outfits to appear before it.

The service chiefs, Inspector-General of Police, Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS) and other heads of security agencies were summoned by the lawmakers.
