2023: Wike Picks Candidate To Support For Presidency

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, on Sunday, noted that he would continue to speak against perceived abnormalities in the Peoples Democratic Party.

This is coming after Wike criticized the Uche Secondus-led National Working Committee.

The Rivers State Governor stated this when he hosted friends and political associates on Sunday night at the Government House in Port Harcourt.

The political associates had visited the Governor to celebrate him on his birthday.

Wike in a statement released through his media aide, Kelvin Ebiri, said he “lacks the capacity to decamp to another political party, particularly, the All Progressives Congress”, he will “continue to speak out against perceived abnormalities in the PDP to ensure it does not die”.

He further stated that he would continue to speak against situations affecting the progress of the party, irrespective of who is in charge of the NWC.

The Governor further said he has experienced several persecutions in his political journey and cannot imagine if any other governor had been fought like him and survived.

Recall that the Rivers Governor accused the NWC of sowing seed of discord among PDP governors.

Governor Wike stated that the leadership of the party is not working towards reclaiming power from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2023.
