1. Buhari Confirms Increase Of NPower Beneficiaries To 1Million

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday, December 10 confirmed the increase of N-Power beneficiaries from 500, 000 to 1,000,000.

Naija News understands that the programme which was founded on June 8, 2016, by the Buhari administration to address the issue of Youth unemployment and help increase social development will now double by 500,000, the initial target of the government.

2. Npower: Read This Important Update On NEXIT E-mail Activation Link

The National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) has released an important update for Npower beneficiaries having difficulty with email activation links for their NEXIT registration.

The NEXIT portal IS for former Npower beneficiaries (batches A and B) to apply for Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Empowerment Options.

3. Kwara Govt To Absorb Exited Npower Batch A And B Beneficiaries Into New Scheme

The Kwara State government has declared its intention to absorb exited Npower batch A and B beneficiaries in the state into another scheme.

This was disclosed on Wednesday in a statement in which the state government noted that its decision is to complement the efforts of the federal government in tackling unemployment among youths.

The federal government has started sending mail notifications to batch A and B beneficiaries of the Npower scheme to enable them to access the NEXIT portal.

This was disclosed on Monday by Nneka Ikem, Special Assistant, Media & Publicity to the Hon Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Farouq.

The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, has been directed by President Muhammadu Buhari to increase N-Power beneficiaries from 500, 000 to 1,000,000.

The Minister in charge of the ministry, Sadiya Farouq, while speaking on the development on Monday, noted that the directive is part of the President’s promise to lift 100m Nigerians from poverty in the next 10 years.

6. NPower: FG Unveils New Portal For CBN Empowerment Programmes

Sadiya Farouq, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, has unveiled a portal for former Npower beneficiaries to apply for Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Empowerment Options. In a statement by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Bashir Alkali, the Minister said the new portal will enable exited N-power beneficiaries to log on and apply for the various economic, empowerment and entrepreneurship options provided by the apex bank.

The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development has finally issued a statement on releasing Npower Batch C shortlisted names. Naija News recalls that the Npower portal for 2020 Batch C intakes opened at exactly 11: 45 pm on Friday, 26th June 2020, hours after some applicants had already registered for the scheme as against the directive of the social intervention scheme.

14. NSIP Disburses N13.3b To 15,246 Npower Beneficiaries

A total number of 15,246 beneficiaries of both batches A and B Npower beneficiaries in Kwara state were paid a sum of N13.3 billion before they exited the programme, National Social Investment Programme (NSIP), has said. Naija News reports that Kwara state Focal Person of NSIP Hajia Bashirah Abdulrazaq who disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday said that batch A beneficiaries of the programme were engaged for a period of 42
months and were paid a total sum of N7.4 billion.

Nigeria’s Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajia Sadiya Umar Farouq, has noted that the Npower Batch C recruitment which is currently at the review stage will be free and fair.
