Adamawa State Loses 40 People To Road Accidents – FRSC

Adamawa State chapter of the Federal Road Safety Corps has revealed that at least forty people died in road accidents within the last three months in the state.

According to the agency which is responsible for road safety administration in Nigeria, the reported number of people died in 82 road crash between September 1 and December 9 this year.

The FRSC disclosed further that not less than 203 people suffered a series of injuries in the 82 road crashes involving a total of 407 passengers.

The details were made known to newsmen on Friday, December 11 in Yola by the Adamawa State Sector Commander of the FRSC, Ocheja Ameh, Naija News understands. The officer noted that the accidents involved 138 vehicles.

Ameh attributed the accidents to speed violations, tyre puncture, wrong overtaking and loss of control by drivers. He, however, admonished motor users to adhere to road regulations even as Christmas draws nearer.

Meanwhile, Kaduna State government has given clarification on controversies following the death of Kano State indigenes on the Abuja-Kaduna highway.

The government in a statement made available to newsmen on Thursday night, December 10 through the state Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr Samuel Aruwan, refuted the claims that 16 Kano indigenes were killed by bandits on the popular highway.
