The United State of America attorney’s office in Delaware has opened an investigation into the tax of Hunter Biden, the son of US President-elect, Joe Biden.

According to The Guardian UK, the son of the Democratic Presidential candidate has long been a target of the Donald Trump government and his allies.

Hunter while reacting to the development in a statement released on Wednesday noted that he had been informed about the investigation on Tuesday by his lawyer.

“I take this matter very seriously but I am confident that a professional and objective review of these matters will demonstrate that I handled my affairs legally and appropriately, including with the benefit of professional tax advisers.”

There are speculations that Trump and his allies are targeting Hunter to tarnish the political image of his father.

Recall that the House of Representatives impeached Trump shortly after he pressured the newly elected president of Ukraine to investigate Hunter Biden’s work in the country while Joe Biden was US Vice-President under former President, Barack Obama.

Meanwhile, President Nana Akufo-Addo has won Ghana’s presidential election, defeating his rival and former President John Dramani Mahama.
