Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has threatened to re-impose a curfew in the state due to the escalating COVID-19 pandemic.

In an interview with the BBC, one of the governor’s media aides, Abdallah Yunus Abdallah, stated that it was the governor’s right to protect the property and lives of the people of Kaduna State, which is why he issued the warning.

He also stressed the governor’s intention to impose a curfew if people do not follow the rules and if the number of infected people continues to rise.

“Now that the responsibility for fighting the disease has shifted from the government to the people, it is imperative that people take care of themselves,” he said.

On Wednesday, NCDC reported 64 cases in the state.
