President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday, December 10 confirmed the increase of N-Power beneficiaries from 500, 000 to 1,000,000.

Naija News understands that the programme which was founded on June 8, 2016, by the Buhari administration to address the issue of Youth unemployment and help increase social development will now double by 500,000, the initial target of the government.

Confirming the development today, President Buhari in a tweet on his verified account on the micro-blogging platform said his administration remains committed to the plan to lift 100m Nigerians out of poverty.

Buhari’s tweet read thus: “We remain committed to the plan to lift 100m Nigerians out of poverty. To this end I have approved an increase in the scope of our Social Investment Programme: Doubling of @npower_ng beneficiaries to 1 million; 1 million new @geep_ng beneficiaries & 5 million new pupils for @NHGSFP.”
