2023: Uche Secondus Speaks On Zone That Will Get The PDP Presidential Ticket

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus on Thursday revealed that the party is yet to take a final decision on which zone will get its 2023 presidential ticket.

He revealed that the party is still studying the outcome of the last election outing to enable it take the best decision as regards which zone will produce its 2023 presidential candidate.

Secondus said this during a press conference at the Transcorp Hotel, Abuja where he delivered an account of his stewardship in office as the PDP National Chairman over the past 3 years.

The PDP chairman expressed optimism that the party will reclaim the national leadership of the country from the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the 2023 general elections.

He added that a committee is already working to reposition the party in that regard.

Secondus said: “I stand by my position that Gov. Bala (Mohammed) led committee is still working. They are coming out with a report on why we lost and by the time they finish, we will take decisions and the decision is not for the National Working Committee but for the entirety of our party.

“And I believe that whoever that is interested in 2023 (presidential ticket), may be including the former President, the chances are there because the PDP is a party of all.

“Everybody will have that opportunity but in clear terms, we have not taken any decision to give anybody ticket for now”.
