An outgone youth leader in Ekpan, a community in Delta State has been beaten to a pulp by his fellow youths after he was caught defiling a minor in the community.

Erumu who is said to be from a prominent family in the community was reportedly caught in the act with the young girl whose age is not mentioned on Monday, December 7.

It was reported that the culprit was the outgoing youth central executive of Ekpan Development Committee and also an aspiring youth vice president.

Confirming the sad disgusting development, the community President, Stephen Akemu, better known as Astone, revealed that Erumu has been automatically disqualified from contesting in the upcoming election.

He also ordered that the suspect be flogged mercilessly to serve as a deterrent to others.

On his part, while reacting to the incident, Franklin Ochuko Akemu who is also a member of the community said such acts will not be tolerated any longer in the community. He wrote: “Ekpan community has pass the level of ignoring wrong act and it was displayed again today when erumu was caught in the act of raping a helpless girl.”

He added, “Erumu was an out going central executive and an aspiring vice president but because of this singular act he has been disqualified from all and severely disciplined. This post is a warning message to all who have the habit of wrong act that there is no impunity, fear or favour when caught so everyone should repent from wrong acts. Before you do think ooh”.
