The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to deregister the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a party.

The call was made on Tuesday by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan following the decision of the APC to dissolve its ward, state, zonal and national structures.

As earlier reported by Naija News, the APC at its NEC meeting held on 8th December, approved the dissolution of all of its party structures across the different levels.

Reacting to the move, PDP called on INEC to deregister the party and declare all its legislative seats vacant.

Congratulations Nigerians as the platform of your tormentors in over 5 years, @OfficialAPCNg, has finally fizzled out of political firmament.

We invite @inecnigeria to immediately deregister the party and declare all their seats in the parliament vacant,” Ologbondiyan noted in his statement.

Meanwhile, the lawmaker representing Vandeikya/Konshisha Federal Constituency of Benue State, Hon. Herman Hembe has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The legislator announced his defection to the APC from the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in a letter read during Tuesday plenary by the Deputy Speaker of the House, Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase.

Hembe cited crisis in the Benue State chapter of APGA as the reason for his defection.
