The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended its former National Vice Chairman, South-south, and ex-acting factional Chairman Hilliard Eta.

The decision was part of resolutions taken during the NEC meeting which held at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja on Tuesday.

Naija News reports the decision to suspend Eta was based on his refusal to withdraw a suit filed against the party in court after the party leadership had instructed that all such cases be withdrawn.

As earlier reported by this online medium, the APC also extended the tenure of the Mai Mala Buni-led caretaker committee for another six months and dissolved all states, zonal, and national party structures.

It will be recalled that following the NEC approval of Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni as the Chairman Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Committee of the party, the Hilliard Eta-led National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) kicked against its dissolution and eventually dragged the party before a court of law.

Eta was the National Vice Chairman, South-South during the leadership of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as the APC National Chairman before the tenure was dissolved by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party.

Meanwhile, Oshiomhole has vowed not to lead the party again if he’s given a second chance.

The former governor of Edo State however stated that he was proud of the strides made by the party’s national working committee (NWC) under his leadership.

Naija News recalls that Oshiomhole was suspended indefinitely by a court order earlier this year, Justice Danladi Senchi, of the FCT High Court in Jabi, Abuja gave the verdict on Wednesday, 4th March 2020.

Oshiomhole stated that he personally instructed his lawyers to withdraw the suit challenging his suspension as the national chairman of the party.
