1. Why Buhari Is Afraid To Sack Service Chiefs – Senator Rufai Hanga

A former Senator representing Kano Central, Rufai Hanga has claimed that President Muhammadu Buhari is yet to sack the Service Chiefs because he is afraid of a coup.

Naija News reports that there has been mounting pressure from Nigerians, including lawmakers and top members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on the president to sack his service chiefs over the rising cases of insecurity across the country.

2. Police Move Against #EndSARS Protesters, Ban Protests In Lagos State

The Lagos State Police Command has threatened to shut down any form of protest in the state, and warned youths not to engage in the fresh planned protest against Police brutality.

The warning was handed down on Sunday in a statement by the spokesman of the Command, Olumuyiwa Adejobi who noted that the state can’t accommodate any form of protests as it is yet to heal from the effects of the last #EndSARS protest.

3. Abia State Chief Of Staff Suspended For ‘Spraying Cash On Odumeje’

The Governor Of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu, has suspended the state’s Chief of Staff for Anthony Agbazuere.

Mr Ikpeazu terminated Agbazuere’s appointment on Sunday after an undated video emerged online showing him (Agbazuere) spraying money on controversial clergyman Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere alias Odumeje.

4. Buhari Is Aware Of Nigerian’s Hardship – Aregbesola

The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, on Saturday noted that President Muhammadu Buhari is aware of the hardship Nigerians are facing.

The former Governor of Osun State stated that COVID-19 pandemic and End SARS protest led to the suffering of Nigerians and his principal is aware of the situation.

5. Ad-hoc Staff Missing As INEC Declares Zamfara Bye-election Inconclusive

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday declared the state Assembly bye-election conducted in Bakura constituency in Zamfara State as inconclusive.

Speaking to newsmen, INEC returning officer, Prof. Ibrahim Magawata disclosed that the election results of five polling units in Bakura ward have been cancelled.

6. APC’s Abiru Wins Lagos East Senatorial Bye-election

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Lagos East Senatorial bye-election, Tokunbo Abiru, has emerged winner of the poll held on Saturday.

Naija News reports that Abiru was announced the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday.

7. 2023: PDP Governors To Meet Jonathan, Atiku, Kwankwaso, Others

Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are set to meet with ex-President Goodluck Jonathan and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar over the 2023 presidential election.

Naija News reports that the main opposition has recently been rocked with defection from Yakubu Dogara, Elisha Abbo, David Umahi among others.

8. Ganduje Takes Fresh Action After American University Denied Appointing Him As Visiting Professor

The Kano State government has demanded an apology from the East Carolina University over the fake professorial appointment offered to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

The demand follows the clarification by the University that Ganduje’s purported appointment as a visiting professor in a letter by one Victor Mbarika, a member of its faculty wasn’t authorized by the institution.

9. Kano Islamic Leaders Deny Endorsing Bola Tinubu For 2023 Presidency

Contrary to some reports in the media, the Council of Ulamas in Kano State did not endorse the National leader of All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the 2023 presidential election.

Naija News recalls that reports of Tinubu’s endorsement emerged after visiting Kano on Friday to attend the wedding Fatiha of Sheikh Muhammad Bn Usman’s daughter.

But speaking to newsmen on Sunday, the Kano State Council Chairman, Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil, clarified that no such endorsement took place.

10. PDP Candidate Succeeds Her Late Husband, Wins By-election In Cross River

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday, December 6, declared the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) the winner of the Cross River by-elections in Obudu constituency.

PDP candidate Maria Godwin Akwaji defeated her All Progressives Congress (APC) rival, Abor Adaje Godwin.
