The Niger State government has been given three conditions by the organized labour for it to end the ongoing strike in the state.

Members of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) in Niger State had embarked on industrial action over certain disagreements with the state government particularly on payment of salaries.

Apart from that, Labour also demanded the reinstatement of eighty (80) civil servants who were sacked by the government for allegedly placing themselves on salaries above their current status.

As a third condition for an end to the current strike action, labour also wants the government to remit cooperative deductions to workers.

Earlier, Naija News also reported that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on Sunday insisted that the union would not end the nine-month strike until the Federal Government pays all its members their salaries.

The President of ASUU, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, in an interview with Punch, noted that the government should not expect lecturers to resume without been paid.
