The Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the arrest of Idris Ayotunde, a 48-year-old Lagos-based car wash operator who escaped with his client’s car.

The car owner reportedly visited the car washstand to clean up his vehicle but because Ayotunde doesn’t have a vacuum cleaner at his place located at Jimoh bus stop, Shasha, Akowonjo, Lagos State, he decided to take the car to another spot on behalf of the client.

It was during this process that the thought of escaping with the SUV entered his mind and he decided to act on it by escaping to Ogun State where he planned to sell the car.

Luck however ran out on him after a highway patrol team which was on stop and search duty along the Abeokuta-Ibadan Expressway stopped him en route, demanded the particulars of the car which he was unable to produce.

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed in a statement on Sunday that this prompted them to take him to a police station on suspicion that he was driving a stolen vehicle.

“The suspect was arrested at Alakija village via Olodo around 8.17 am by a safer highway patrol team which was on stop and search along the Abeokuta-Ibadan Expressway.

“The team stopped the car and demanded its documents, which the suspect was unable to produce, consequent upon which he was taken to Odeda divisional headquarters where the DPO, Ajayi Williams, personally interrogated the suspect and found out that he actually stole the car,” Oyeyemi noted in the statement.

The owner of the car, who had earlier reported the case at the Shasha Police Station has been contacted while the Ogun CP, Mr. Edward Ajogun has instructed the case to be transferred to Lagos State where the car was stolen.

Meanwhile, the Resident Pastor of Shepherd House Assembly International in Jos, Tajan Moltok, on Sunday, shared his thought about the use of sex toys.

The cleric while preaching on a sermon titled ‘Understanding the Anointing’ described the use of sex toys as a perversion of nature.
