Obi, Atiku Also Promised To Remove Fuel Subsidy- Uzdoinma

A former Senator, Ifeanyi Araraume, has accused Governor Hope Uzodinma of working with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the just concluded Imo North Senatorial Bye-election.

Recall that Araraume and Frank Ibezim had laid claim to the victory of the APC in the Imo North Senatorial Bye-election.

While declaring the APC winner of the election held on Saturday, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) refused to return any candidate winner following various contradicting court orders.

Speaking to newsmen on Sunday, Araraume said Uzodinma was working against the interest of the ruling APC in the South-east.

The former lawmaker called on the national leadership of the APC to caution the Imo State governor.

While accusing the governor of ordering APC members to work for the candidate of the PDP in the bye-election, he also said Uzodinma was appointing members of the opposition party into his administration.

He pointed out that his political sagacity saved the APC from defeat in the election despite attempts by the Imo governor to sabotage it.

Cheap Lies

Reacting to claims by Araraume, the Senior Special Assistant to the Imo State governor on Print Media, Modestus Nwamkpa, described the allegations as cheap lies.

Nwamkpa said the APC had grown in the state and in the South-East since Uzodinma became governor, adding that the his principal worked hard to ensure victory for the APC.

Naija News reports that a Federal High Court had disqualified Ibezim from contesting the bye-election over disparities with his full names.

But a judgement by the Court of Appeal in Owerri, on the same day, also sacked Araraume and asked INEC to replace him with Ibezim.
