1. Buhari Gives Military Matching Order Against Insurgency

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment in the fight against insurgency and insecurity in Nigeria.

According to the President, he has given the military a marching order to ensure that all forms of insecurity is wiped out.

2. Boko Haram: Nigeria Will Continue To Be At The Mercy Of Terrorists Until… Lai Mohammed

Nigeria’s Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed has submitted that Nigeria has been finding it difficult to fully overcome Boko Haram and other insurgents because it has not been able to acquire needed weapons to combat the insurgents.

The Minister who spoke on Monday in Makurdi, the Benue State capital added that the country may continue to be at the mercy of these terrorists until it gets the needed global support to acquire equipment and platforms to effectively wage the war.

3. Presidential Spokesperson Says Farmers Killed By Boko Haram Didn’t Have Military Clearance To Farm

Mallam Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity has disclosed that the farmers slaughtered by Boko Haram terrorists on Saturday didn’t have military clearance to be on the farm.

This he stated on Monday during an interview with the BBC where he spoke about the unfortunate incident in which terrorists on Saturday, mercilessly killed not less than 43 farmers in the Zabarmari area of Borno State, about 20km away from Maiduguri the state capital.

The People Democratic Party Governor who visited Oyetola at his office noted that his counterpart acted like a statesman and put the interest of students of the institution above other considerations.

Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, on Monday led federal government delegation to Borno State on condolence visit following the killing of farmers at the weekend by terrorists.

Members of the delegation include the Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, Ministers of the Federal Capital Territory, Mohammed Bello, Communications and Digital Economy, Ali Pantami and the Minister of State for Agriculture, Mustapha Baba Shehuri.
