United States President-elect, Joe Biden, has announced a first of its kind all-female senior White House communications team.

Naija News reports that US President Donald Trump is yet to concede defeat to Biden despite agreeing to work with his transition committee.

This has not put Biden off as he has gone ahead to name key government officials ahead of his inauguration on the 20th of January, 2020.

Biden in a statement on Sunday named was Jen Psaki, 41, as the White House press secretary.

Psaki had held the position of White House communications director under the Barack Obama-Biden administration.

“I am proud to announce today the first senior White House communications team comprised entirely of women,” the president-elect said.

“These qualified, experienced communicators bring diverse perspectives to their work and a shared commitment to building this country back better.”

Other appointments include Kate Bedingfield as White House Communications Director. She was Biden’s deputy campaign manager.

Ashley Etienne as communications director for Harris and Symone Sanders as Kamala Harris’s senior advisor and Chief Spokeswoman.

Naija News reports that Pili Tobar was also named deputy White House communications director and Karine Jean Pierre will be principal deputy press secretary.

Elizabeth Alexander was named communications director for incoming First Lady Jill Biden.
