Six Members Of A Family Murdered, Husband Missing In Dabekweni

A man in South Africa has reportedly disappeared following the murder of his 42-year-old wife and children on the same day.

According to the report confirmed to newsmen by the Eastern Cape Police, the mother of five was found dead with her kids at their apartment at Dabekweni in Kwaaiman.

Naija News understands that the family members were gruesomely murdered at the time the country is observing a campaign for No Violence against Women and Children. Confirming the sad development on Thursday, November 26, Police spokesperson, Brig Tembinkosi Kinana, revealed that the police have commenced an investigation into the incident.

According, a preliminary investigation revealed that the police were reached on the phone earlier on Tuesday night after neighbours discovered the terrible attack on the deceased family. Kinana disclosed further that upon their arrival at the scene of the crime, they found six people murdered and among them were little children.

He said: “The deceased persons include a 42-year-old mother and her children aged between six months and ten (10) years old. An Axe which was found at the scene of crime is believed to have been used as an instrument in the commission of the murders,”

“The circumstances surrounding the incident are currently under investigation by SAPS detectives. No arrest has been made at this stage. It is alleged that the husband to the 42-year-old mother, and who is of Zimbabwean origin, has disappeared. Police believe that he can assist with the investigations into the case,” Kinana added.

On his part, the Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General, Liziwe Ntshinga, described the incident as shattering.

He said, “It is inconceivable that just at the opening day of the 16 Days of Activism we can wake up to such a horrible and distressing incident. Whoever is behind these gruesome and heartless murders must be found without any delays”.

The police boss, however, ordered the activation of a 72-hour plan to ensure a quick end on the perpetrators of the evil act. He confirmed the discovery of an axe on the scene, believed to be used by the murder (s).

“It is alleged that the husband to the 42-year-old mother, and who is of Zimbabwean origin, has disappeared. Police believe that he can assist the investigations into the case,” Kinana added.

Meanwhile, a lady has reportedly poured hot water on her brother after he confronted her about having an affair with a married man, Naija News reports.
