Ahead of the 2023 election in Nigeria, some governors on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party, have approached the nation’s immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan on possible of him contesting.

Naija News understands that the APC governors approached Jonathan to contest the 2023 election when they visited the former President in his Abuja home on the occasion of his 63rd birthday on Friday.

It was learned that during the meeting, the APC governors used the opportunity of the visit to ask Jonathan to run for president in 2023 on the platform of the party. IIt is believed that the proposal will satisfy the increasing clamor for a power shift to the South.

The move to allow Jonathan to run for President in 2023, according to reports,  was decided by some loyalists to President Muhammadu Buhari. The group, it was learned, believes that the former President would be harmless to their interest and as such the right person to take over from the President.
