2023: Yahaya Bello Picks Date, Venue To Officially Declare Presidential Ambition

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has stated that nine more Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would cross over to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Naija News reports that the Kogi governor made this claim while appearing on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday.

Bello recalled that he had predicted 10 governors will join the ruling party and Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State was the first of them.

“I did say there are 10 governors from the opposition parties that would join APC.

“We have seen one. One that is equal to ten; He has joined us. Nine to go,” Bello said.

It should be noted that PDP Governors through its chairman, Governor Aminu Tambuwal, has insisted that they remain loyal to the main opposition party.

Naija News had reported earlier that the Ebonyi Governor announced his defection from PDP to All Progressives Congress (APC) while addressing journalists in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital on Tuesday, November 17.

Governor Umahi said he moved to the ruling APC because of injustice meted out to the Southeast by his former political party, the PDP.

The Ebonyi Governor clarified that he has no deal with the APC or any member of the party with regards to the zoning of the presidential position to the southeast in 2023 as touted in some quarters.

He was officially received into the APC at a ceremony held at the party’s secretariat on Thursday afternoon.
