Members of staff of the Kano State Hisbah Board in Dala Local Government Area have written a petition against their commander accusing him of diverting COVID-19 palliatives meant for them.

The staff members in a petition to the state’s commander of the Board, Ustaz Muhammad Ibn Sina accused their commander identified as Suyudi Muhammad Hassan of diverting palliatives meant for distribution to them.

Items allegedly diverted by Hassan include 50 bags of rice, 50 cartons of spaghetti, and 50 cartons of instant noodles.

The staff members, numbering 73 have therefore appealed to the State commander to investigate the matter and get them justice.

According to them, the commander didn’t share any of the palliatives to them as instructed by the government.

When contacted, the spokesperson of the state’s Hisbah Board, Lawan Fagge said he cannot comment on the issue as it is currently under investigation.

He however added that the accused commander has been invited by the board to defend the allegations against him.
