Nigerians have taken to the Twitter street to demand the arrest of a thug whose photo went viral during the recent #EndSARS worldwide protest in Nigeria.

Naija News recalls that one Adagun Osha went viral a few weeks ago after he and some other thugs in Lagos State disrupted peaceful protest and injured peaceful protesters.

The incident which happened on October 15, 2020, had Ada Osha’s photo sent across media platforms after he was caught on camera chasing protesters with a machete.

Despite the outcry by Nigerians and how Adagun Osha’s photo was made to trend at that time, the thug is yet to be arrested and the government seems not to have responded positively to the call for his arrest.

However, after weeks of silence, Nigerians has again called out the government to fish out the thug and others who disrupted the peaceful exercise. Naija News understands that the call was made after Nigerian comedian popularly known as Mr Debo Macaroni again challenged the government for turning a blind eye and allowed violence to take place in the country.

He tweeted; “Since the beginning of the #Endsars protests, sponsored thugs kept attacking peaceful protesters. The government turned a blind eye and allowed the violence escalate!! The end game was to harass, oppress and kill Nigerian Youths asking for an end to impunity!! Evil people!!”

Reacting to the above post, a social media user identified as Davidson™ [@Dahveydson] wonders how the thug in the shared photo is yet to be apprehended till now. He wrote: “It’s wild that this thug with his pictures and details all over the internet is yet to be arrested but peaceful protesters are being harassed by the authorities on a daily.>

On his part, Toniro [@TonyToniro] who condemned arrest on peaceful protesters while thugs are allowed to move freely say: “so the Nigerian police arresting peaceful protesters, have not arrested this guy abi?
So cbn governor can’t detect the monies transferred into his Aza? So this guy is invincible abi?”

Meanwhile, the federal government of Nigeria has insisted that it is proceeding with plans to regulate the social media in the country so as to curb the spread of fake news.
