Troops of Operation Sahel Sanity, Faskari Local Government Area of ​​Katsina State, Nigeria has killed a suspected kidnapper in Dajin Wuta village.

The troops also recovered an AK-47 assault rifle with 27 rounds of ammunition, the Acting Director, Defence Media Operations, Brigadier General  Benard Onyeuko said in a statement on Friday.

He said the troops clashed with bandits along the fringes of the Forest, resulting in the death of one person.

According to the statement, several of the bandits who double as kidnappers escaped into the forest with various injuries.

Brigadier General Onyeuko added that his forces rescued two girls in an ambush on November 11.

Katsina State is one of the worst-hit states in northwestern Nigeria, where thousands of people have been killed.
