Saraki Condemns Gruesome Attack By Bandit Terrorists In Kaduna State

Former President of the Nigerian Senate, Bukola Saraki, has reacted to the death of former Ghanaian president, Jerry Rawlings.

Naija News had reported earlier that the former Ghanaian president died on Thursday morning from suspected COVID-19 complications. Rawlings died at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, the capital of Ghana.

Late Rawlings led the West African country first as a military ruler and then as a democratically elected president between 1981 and 2001.

Reacting to Rawlings’ death in a series of tweets on the micro-blogging site, Twitter, Saraki wrote: “I just got off the phone with HE President Nana Akufo-Addo (@NAkufoAddo) of Ghana. On the call, I conveyed my deepest condolences over the passing of the former President of Ghana, HE Jerry Rawlings.”

“From his early days as a young revolutionary to his later years as a renowned statesman and pan-Africanist, Jerry Rawlings always led from the front and matched his words with his actions.

“As we mourn his death, I commiserate with President @NAkufoAddo and our Ghanaian brothers and sisters. It is my prayer that God will grant President Rawlings eternal rest — as we all take solace in his achievements and contributions to the development of a more united continent.”
