Nigerian singer and songwriter, Simisola Ogunleye, better known as Simi has taken to the social media to lament on how women are been ill-treated by some men.

The 32-year-old mother of one, in a series of tweets on her verified Twitter account on Tuesday evening, November 10, said it is heartbreaking what women go through nowadays.

She wrote; “Woman don suffer sha.

“The kind of shit I see/hear many women go through everyday could break your heart. It’s so bad that many women even think they deserve the suffering, BECAUSE they’re women. I mean “why else should I suffer this much if I don’t deserve it. My heart man”

Simi hopes that someday women will rise up to demand the respect they dully deserve and never again settle for less.

“I pray that we start to raise women that demand for the respect they deserve and never settle for a life that continuously diminishes them. We can be more. We ARE more,” she added.
