I’m Not An Activist, #EndSARS Promoter Modupe Odele Cries Out

#EndSARS promoter, Modupe Odele, has lamented that she is not an activist and as such should not be described as one.

Naija News reports that the #EndSARS promoter made this clarification on the micro-blogging site, Twitter, where she noted that seeing many publications describe her as an “activist” makes her feel uncomfortable.

The #EndSARS promoter said being referred to as an activist is like a “title which you have to take up by force simply because you said, “no, adding that “this can’t be right.”

Odele whose passport had since being seized by Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) over #EndSARS protests, tweeted: “Seeing many publications describe me as an “activist” makes me feel uncomfortable. It is like this title which you have to take up by force simply because you said, “no, this can’t be right”. A country that turns everyone who speaks up into an activist still has a long way to go.
