Zamfara APC: Marafa Demands Buni’s Resignation For ‘Misleading’ The Public

Former Zamfara central senator, Kabiru Marafa has demanded the immediate resignation or sack of the Mai Mala Buni-led caretaker committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This is as Marafa maintained that contrary to what the committee wants the public to believe, it has not resolved the crisis rocking the Zamfara chapter of the APC.

The former Senator declared that Yekini Nabena, Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the APC, lied in his submission on Tuesday that the Buni-led caretaker committee has “substantially” reconciled the factions in Zamfara.

He said the committee has not reached out to him either formally or informally on any step to resolve the party crisis in the state. He, therefore, submitted that the committee has lost the confidence reposed in it by party members.

In his words: “With this statement, the committee has deflated the trust and confidence reposed in it, by misleading the public with the claim that it has resolved the crises in the states mentioned,” he said.

“The committee has lost its integrity and its members should therefore resign or be sacked.

“This is nothing but a wicked lie. I pray that the committee is not on a mission to destroy the party completely.

“They have not done anything and have not contacted anybody; either by phone or letter, formally or informally.”

Naija News recalls the crisis rocking the APC in Zamfara State resulted in the Supreme Court ruling which disqualified the party from participating in the 2019 governorship election and also gave victory to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

Two major factions are laying claim to the party structure in the state – the Marafa faction and the other led by Abdulaziz Yari, former Zamfara governor.
