The National Examinations Council (NECO) has announced a fresh date for the resumption of the suspended 2020 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE).

NECO in a statement on Monday by its spokesperson, Azeez Sani disclosed that the suspended exams will be restarting across the federation by Monday, November 9.

Sani added that the modified timetable will be available for download from the council’s website as from November 4.

The statement noted: “Following the return of normalcy in the states and FCT, the examinations will now continue with a new Time-Table from Monday 9th November, 2020 to Saturday 28th November, 2020,” the spokesperson of the exam body, Azeez Sani, disclosed on Monday.

The new schedule will be made available to the general public, schools, and candidates from November 4, he added.

“The Time-Table can also be seamlessly downloaded from the NECO official website: www.neco.gov.ng.”

Naija News recalls NECO had been forced to suspend its on-going exams as a result of the unrest which broke out in some parts of the country and the attendant security challenges as well as restriction of movement which followed.

Meanwhile, the results of 215,149 candidates that sat for the 2020 WASSCE has been withheld by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).

This was confirmed in a statement on Monday, 2nd November by the examination body when it announced the release of results for candidates who sat for the West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

According to WAEC, the 215,149 candidates who had their results withheld are under investigation for various reported cases of examination malpractices.
