2. Sanwo-Olu Sets Date For Civil Servants On Level 12, Others To Resume

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has ordered the state’s civil servants on grade level 12 and below to resume work from Monday, November 2, 2020. Naija News reports that the governor’s order was announced in a circular signed by Head of Service (HOS), Hakeem Muri-Okunola on Saturday, October 31.

3. Time To Adjust Nigeria’s Federal Character Laws – Gbajabiamila

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila has recommended the need for Nigeria’s federal character laws to be amended. According to the Speaker, true federal character is not been practiced as currently defined by Nigeria’s constitution as federal character is at variance with the nation’s realities as it limits national opportunities to geographical location alone without consideration for gender, persons living with disabilities, and age classification.

4. #EndSARS: PSC Denies Threatening To Dismiss Police Officers

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has denied threatening to dismiss police officers who fail to return to work following the #EndSARS protests. The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, had claimed that no fewer than 28 policemen lost their lives to hoodlums who infiltrated the peaceful #EndSARS protest.

5. Buhari Govt Will Stop Doctors From Leaving Nigeria – FG

The Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, has said the Federal Government will do all it can tp prevent medical doctors from leaving the country. The minister stated this on Friday in Abuja after inspecting work on the new cancer centre at the National Hospital, Abuja.

Ndubuisi Obiechina, a schoolteacher, has narrated how was arrested in 2017 and tortured by men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) till her then two-month-old pregnancy was aborted. She disclosed this while testifying on Saturday before the retired Justice Doris Okuwobi-led Lagos State Panel of Judicial Inquiry into complaints of human rights violations by men of the disbanded SARS.

10. James Bond Actor, Sean Connery Is Dead

Legendary British actor Sean Connery, best known for playing fictional spy James Bond in seven films, has died aged 90. Naija News reports his family disclosed this to the BBC on Saturday.
