24 People Die In Tragic Road Accident In Niger State

An auto crash on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Friday, October 30 reported claimed three lives.

According to the report confirmed to newsmen by the Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, the accident happened between two vehicles after one of the vehicle’s brake failed.

Naija News understands that the accident which happened at Lotto, opposite NNPC Filling Station happened between an Iveco truck with registration number AAB 458 ZY and a Mazda bus marked XY 660 EKY.

It was reported that the truck driver lost control of the vehicle due to brakes failure thrust on the Mazda bus.

Mr Olusola Ojuoro, the Mowe/Ibafo Area Commander of TRACE, confirmed to newsmen in Ota, Ogun State that the accident happened at about 8.45 a.m, adding that one person sustained injuries in the accident while other three died.

He said, “The corpses of the victims have been deposited at Idera Hospital Morgue, Ogun, while the survivor was taken to an undisclosed hospital by his relative,”

Ojuoro urged motorists and truck drivers against exceeding speed limits. He further admonished them to ensure that their vehicles were in good condition before plying on the roads to avoid unnecessary loss of lives.

The TRACE official sympathized with the families of those that lost their lives and prayed to God to grant them the fortitude to bear the losses.
