Liverpool Release Update On Virgil Van Dijk’s Knee Injury

Netherlands national team captain, Virgil van Dijk, has undergone surgery on his knee following an injury he had a few days ago while playing for his club, Liverpool FC.

Naija News recalls that the Dutch professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for the English Premier League club was knocked out the pitch by Everton goalkeeper, Jordan Pickford in the Merseyside derby clash on October 17.

However, Liverpool has confirmed that the player is now focused on the beginning of his rehabilitation.

This was disclosed in a tweet on Liverpool’s official Twitter account on Friday, October 30.

The tweet reads: “@VirgilvDijk has undergone successful surgery on the knee ligament injury he sustained earlier this month.

“He’ll now focus on the beginning of his rehabilitation with the support of our medical department.”

Meanwhile, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has picked a new date for the semi-final and final matches of the 2019/2020 African Champions League Games.
