The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) in a statement released on Friday, October 30 said that the recent crisis that erupted in the country as a result of the End SARS protest does not portray Nigeria as godly people.

ACF has urged Nigerian youths to stop the street campaign against police brutality and engage government in dialogue for amicable and peaceful resolutions.

The group in the statement made available to newsmen through its National Publicity Secretary, Emmanuel Yawe, said no nation develops in the absence of peaceful coexistence.

“Our country is mired in deep crises of violent demonstrations, killings and looting at an unprecedented level. There is a need to stop all forms of crisis and make peace,” the statement reads.

ACF appeal to the youths to sheathe their swords, adding that “events of the past few weeks do not portray us as godly people that we are known all over the world to be.”

“The Forum is particularly urging the youth to avoid violent street demonstrations and the unprecedented looting of public and private property. They should rather engage government in useful dialogue,” the statement added.
