How My Advice Helped Okonjo-Iweala Emerge As WTO DG – Primate Ayodele

Primate Elijah Ayodele of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, on Wednesday noted that his advice helped former Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala Emerge as the Director-General of the World Trade Organization, WTO.

Naija News had earlier reported that Okonjo-Iweala was appointed the DG of WTO after defeating several opponents from different countries.

She clinched the position due to large support from key players and stakeholders of the organisation.

Ayodele back in June had stated that the best candidate for the position is the former Minister but for her to win, she needs the support of all African leaders.

He had said, “On WTO, Okonjo-Iweala can win if all African leaders come together to nominate her.”

“She is the most qualified, but she needs to be pushed.”

“If they can come to a consensus in Africa, she will be victorious.’’

Ayodele in the statement released on Wednesday, said his advice was followed by all African leaders which has made her become the DG of the World trade organization.
