A former Presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria, Oby Ezekwesili has described as shame President Muhammadu Buhari’s led government over the killings of peaceful End SARS protesters at Lekki Toll Gate, Lagos State a few days ago.

Ezekwesili in a thread of tweets on her verified Twitter account on Tuesday, October 27, the blood of the dead Nigerians who were shot dead and injured during the protest are crying for justice.

According to her, while reacting to the ongoing #CovidPalliativesUltimateSearch across the country, the President and state governors played themselves in what has been described as ‘greedy game’ by Nigerians. She again condemned the government for attacking poor Nigerians who were only demanding for justice and progress of the country.

Ezekwesili alleged that the government instead of addressing the demands of the protesters released thugs they used during elections on them against their justice cause.

She tweeted: “It is 7 days since that #BlackTuesday of #LekkiTollGateProtest where @HQNigerianArmy shot our unarmed #EndSARS protesters.

“The Blood of the dead citizens is crying for Justice, @MBuhari.”

“Is it not a shame how the @NigeriaGov @MBuhari and some governors played themselves.”

“Young citizens were gently and peacefully asking you to #EndSARS and all you could do was release the thugs you hire during elections against their Just Cause.

“The Americans have a saying that, “the genie is out of the bottle or that someone has let the genie out of the bottle”.
It means that something has happened which has made a great and permanent change in people’s lives, especially a bad change.”

“I have seen heartbreaking videos of the #CovidPalliativesUltimateSearch going on all over the country. The evil of hiding away palliatives procured for the poor and vulnerable is the worst symbol yet of the systemic acts of corruption in our governments at all levels. Big Shame!”

“Now that the Pandora Box of #HiddenCovidPalliatives is flung open by the citizens who were deprived of their due, can the @NigeriaGov @MBuhari @ProfOsinbajo work with all the State Governors to give a public account of “what was spent and who got what?” immediately, please.”

“The trend of the #CovidPalliativesUltimateSearch by our beleaguered poor and vulnerable citizens is a good indicator for the extreme poverty that plagues our country. To have more than 90 million extremely poor people is a colossal disaster. Worse is impervious leadership.”

In another news, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), says the ongoing ASUU strike will only be called off when the government is ready to conduct an integrity test on the University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS).

Naija News understands that UTAS is the payment platform created by ASUU in place of the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) initiated by the Federal Government led by President Muhammadu Buhari.
