Tinubu Gets Two Names Suggestion For CBN Gov, Emefiele's Replacement

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, former Lagos State Governor and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has disclosed that he knows those who ordered attacks on some of his business assets in Lagos.

Tinubu made the revelation in a statement on Sunday titled  ‘The End SARS protests; fundamental lesson in democratic governance,” where he also confirmed his major stakes in The Nation newspaper and TVC.

Naija News recalls both media houses were attacked in the wake of arsons, vandalism, and looting of private and public properties in Lagos State following the Lekki toll gate shooting that happened last Tuesday during the #EndSARS protests.

Reacting to the attacks on the media houses, Tinubu revealed that the attackers were sponsored by his political opponents who were trying to get to him.

While lamenting the damages on his assets, he was full of thanks that no human life was lost during the attacks.

He said: “I am, indeed, a promoter and financial investor in the Nation newspaper and TVC. It was widely known and circulated through social media that certain malevolent elements were going to take advantage of the situation to attack the Nation newspaper facilities and TVC in Lagos.

“The attackers came. Both facilities were significantly damaged. Although equipped with prior notice of the imminent trespass, I did not call any one to seek or request for the army or police to deploy let alone attack, kill, or injure those who razed and vandalized these properties. I did not want any bloodshed.

“These elements, mostly hirelings of my political opponents, wreaked their havoc and destroyed those buildings and facilities and I thank God that the employees of these two media institutions managed to escape largely unharmed.”

Meanwhile, the Minister of works and housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola has discovered a camera at the scene of the Lekki toll gate shootings.

The Minister made the discovery on Sunday during an assessment visit to some of the sites affected during last week’s unrest in Lagos State.

The camera has since been handed over to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu for further investigation and forensic analysis.
